I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you with a matter of grave concern regarding one of your elders, David W. Zerrien, who is also a psychiatrist. It has come to my attention that there are serious issues surrounding his professional conduct in relation to my medical care when I was a child, and I believe it is important for the congregation to understand the situation and clarify the church's stance on this matter.

As a young child, I was prescribed Seroquel by David W. Zerrien without any proper diagnostic evaluation, which led to significant harm. He administered hundreds of milligrams of this medication despite not diagnosing me with any specific condition and without doing the necessary assessments. Furthermore, Mr. Zerrien later concealed this medical malpractice, and despite the facts being available in recovered records, he continues to fraudulently misrepresent the truth.

Earlier this year, I had a conversation with David W. Zerrien, during which he admitted that he never diagnosed me with autism, despite it being a key part of my medical history. However, he abruptly ended the conversation before I could fully ask him about his reasoning for discontinuing care, especially after administering harmful doses of Seroquel to a child. Notably, crucial details about my case—including his disagreements with my autism diagnosis and the specifics of the care I received—are conspicuously absent from his medical records.

Since that time, I have been unequivocally told by numerous doctors and mental health professionals that I was never diagnosed with autism, and I have since been able to safely discontinue the medications I was forcibly put on from the age of two. This outcome stands in stark contrast to the approach taken by David W. Zerrien, and raises the question of whether his actions align with the ethical standards expected from healthcare professionals.

Given the severity of these issues, I am reaching out to you, the leadership of Calvary Bible Church, to request clarity on whether you, as a congregation, support the actions of David W. Zerrien as a healthcare professional. Specifically, I would appreciate your public stance on whether the church condones actions that amount to taxpayer-funded medical child abuse, such as prescribing harmful medications to children without appropriate diagnostics and then covering up these actions to avoid accountability.

I trust that the church’s values emphasize integrity, transparency, and compassion, and I hope to hear from you soon regarding how you plan to address this serious concern within your congregation.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Evan Paul Carlson
